West of Trail

It takes a village. We’ve all heard the phrase. 

 

There is real substance to that declaration for folks who call “West Of The Trail” their home. This unique area of Sarasota, bounded on the north by Selby Botanical Gardens, to the south by Oyster Bay and the Field Club and centered around Harbor Acres, Cherokee Park, Southside Village, and the “Flower Streets” that are exactly what the name implies. 

 

In addition to an abundance of menu items and libations at its many food and beverage establishments and gourmet shops, there is the convenience of Sarasota Memorial Hospital, doctors, dentists and other medical providers, plus the lure of top-rated schools like Southside elementary, Riverview and Sarasota High.

 

Most who live in this area are full time residents who know their neighbors, the names of their children and even their dogs. In short, it is a collection of real neighborhoods in every sense of that word. 

 

Downtown is just a few blocks away as are most neighborhoods and communities that make up the city of Sarasota.
